{"id":1184,"date":"2013-11-06T19:20:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-06T19:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pearlriverchin.wpengine.com\/?p=1184"},"modified":"2023-07-24T10:38:41","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T14:38:41","slug":"layout-tips-for-book-covers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/p8site.com\/old-prc\/layout-tips-for-book-covers\/","title":{"rendered":"Layout tips for Book Covers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Layout tips for Book Covers<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Here are some tips when creating the cover art files for your book project.\u00a0 Whether you are <a href=\"https:\/\/p8site.com\/old-prc\/hardcover-book-printing\/\">printing a hard cover book<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/p8site.com\/old-prc\/perfect-bound-book-printing\/\" data-wplink-edit=\"true\">soft cover book<\/a>, you need to provide a printer with the correct dimensions and layout of the covers and interiors.<\/p>\n<p>Creating your hard cover book, you will need the spine width, <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>note the cover is always larger than the interior book block.\u00a0 Be sure the text on the spine is facing the standard direction as placed on a book shelf next to other books.\u00a0 Standard\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">the<\/span>\u00a0texts\u00a0is printed from top to bottom, the text should face left.\u00a0 What is usually placed on the spine of a book?\u00a0 Standard information is title and author\u2019s name.\u00a0 You can put your logo which will spruce up the spine.\u00a0\u00a0 If you are applying a dust jacket to the book development, the spine differs from the hard cover.\u00a0 The dust jacket is wrapped around the entire book which the spine will be larger.\u00a0 You can create your dust jacket flap from 2\u201d \u2013 4\u201d.\u00a0 Standard flap size seen often is 3.5\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Producing a perfect bound book the spine of the book is usually the same measurement as the book block thickness.\u00a0 Same as the dust jacket you can add flaps to your perfect bound book project.\u00a0 The flap size is the same as a dust jacket.
